Ten Things of Thankful Many Things to be Thankful For

Ten Things of Thankful Many Things to be Thankful For

Ten Things of Thankful
Last weekend we finally switched the winter clothes with the summer clothes… if you are not familiar with this practice – let me explain, I do not have the closet space to keep all of our clothes in the closet all year long, so every Spring and Fall we do the switch!!!
This is what my bedroom looked like for about 5 hours

I know you want to scream too!!!
However, I am thankful to say it was done in one evening and I pressed on, because I was not going to drag out this task for another day!

Not bad, there are still other  areas that need organizing ; like hubby’s side of the closet…he hardly wears what is hanging up, so I think if he cleans it out there will be more space for my things.
I like Pinterest a lot …but more so, what I truly love about it is it’s concept…every category has its place, a file that is specifically named for what it is…a box you can put things in, so I was really excited to find those cute boxes at Dollar Tree Store…. Not only am I a hat girl I am a scarf woman too… it’s all organized now; my hats, scarves … I went back for two more boxes, for my evening purses…. While I was there, I picked up these too

They are coated with a felt type of material; you get two for a buck…these are perfect for blouses and dresses.
Thank you Dollar Tree !
I treated myself to a few summer dresses, new shorts, and these :

Old Navy was having a great sale, not only did I get a 25% discount, but I also used my buck rewards $55.00
Thank you Old Navy…mama needed it, but I am more thankful of a great deal.
I have been trying to lose some extra pounds so I am watching my portions, I am basically cooking the same, but using less salt and less oils ( However I have always been quite conservative with these ingredients)  I started walking  at lunch, and added some yoga too.  Last week I was able to see a difference when I was able to pull down my pants without unbuttoning them.   By the way, I do not pull down my pants randomly during the day, only when necessary. LOL
Thank you for losing a couple of inches!
Thursday was my nephew’s birthday; he is also my Godson.  I always told him that I am his Fairy Godmother.  This year he  is 14 years old; I look at him and I am in awe or just surprised how lucky  I  am to have him in my life…when AJ was born he was a preemie;  born 2 ½ lbs. he strived and thrived , I  am so thankful to celebrate his birthday.

Happy Birthday!
Today we also celebrate a high school graduation…my nieces are graduating from high school with great honors.
I am so thankful to celebrate their accomplishment but more so I am thankful that I was able to witness how it was done; with perseverance, dedication and determination.
Happy Father’s Day to my hubby!!!!
I am so thankful the kind of father you are…you are our children’s hero!!!

I am thankful that the sun finally came out yesterday, and we were able to take this picture

I took it before noon, downloaded it sent it to Walgreen’s for an 8 X 10, framed it and presented it to hubby!
Thank you, Mr. Sun!
Mangia, Mangia… No Talk!!!

  • I have been losing comments all afternoon! Hopefully this isnt one of fifty of my previous ones… so I will be shorter just in case and just say… HOW COOL IS THAT LAST PHOTO!??????? and I feel your closet pain as I have only one in the house!

  • That last photo is awesome!
Good for you, getting those clothes done. I have yet to do the big clothing switch. I really, really don't like the big clothes switch with the kids. So many clothes. So much trying on. So much lifting and hefting big boxes and folding and organizing. (Can you tell I don't like that job?) 🙂

  • What a great photo idea!

So glad your nephew is doing well. My youngest son was a preemie, too. Under 3-pound babies are so tiny! Like your nephew, my son is doing well now, too.

  • HOW COOL IS THAT LAST PHOTO!? What a great idea!

I have a walk in closet but it is the ONLY closet in the house ( it is an old renovated barn) so it takes everything including towels and sheets… thank God for shelving. BUT every year around this time I have to do a massive clean out… my bed and room look just like those photos!

  • Wow a renovated barn sounds awesome…i understand everywhere I lived closets were always issues – creative closeting (LOL i made a word) is what I do …not great but passable!!! 🙂

  • aargh! before the kids it was simple, my clothes, hubby's clothes. Now we add the kids and I cringe because i know that what ever was packed from the last season nothing will fit…this year i was purging some of my own summer clothes …Amelia would go through them and take what would fit her..she walked away with a couple of sweatshirts, two summer maxi dresses, i think that's it …she is now taller than me what she got did fit her and everything seemed age appropriate…win win – yes I do hate the job.. oh well until September!
    🙂

  • Your son was a preemie too…i did not know how tiny they were until i saw AJ after a week of his birth we all got to see him at the hospital ( he was there for a while ) so of course we weren't allowed to be in the same room so with a glass separated us we all got to see our first nephew – he was so tiny…my sister has a picture of him in in necu wearing my brother-in-law's wedding band it looks like a bracelet.
    amazing right –
AJ is a typical 14 year old …that makes me laugh! glad to hear your son did well too!
    🙂

  • WOW! That photo is amazing! What an awesome idea.

I'm glad you've had such a successful week, what with achieving the clothes swap, and getting so many things done. I'm glad your nephew had fun celebrating his birthday. The photos are awesome.

  • your posts always make me think … THAT'S exactly what a family should be!
    love these pictures!
    xo
    and… ps…
those are the cutest shoes!!! ♥

  • It looks like its coming together, the clothes swap done, yard and pool almost done… last day of school fast approaching and me daydreaming of hanging in the yard to enjoy the summer… soon will be here (last summer was awful) it is so hard to get get straight face or just a regular smile from my nephew his warped sense of humor makes him do these crazy faces…yet he cracks me up every single time…the picture with my kids was funny and almost frustrating at the same time..we had to wait for the sun, James was being picked with the hour and not sure when he was coming back and the dog wouldn't look at me… finally got it though

    Thanks for visiting!!!
    🙂

  • Thank you Tammy…it was a good weekend…. and yes those shoes comfy too!!!

Hope you are doing good and enjoying your walks and this wonderful June month!!

    🙂

  • Hi Marisa,

Wow! You do have so many things to be thankful for indeed! What a great idea for a picture or a card that last clever photo is – I'm sure your hubby loved it! And, those shoes! I don't think I've ever seen anything like them before! Kudos to you for losing a few inches; it really does make a difference. I need to lose more than a few, and get back to a regular exercise program. Started my walks today and am trying to concentrate on less starches and sugar!

    Have a wonderful week!

    xoxo
