My Favorite Restaurant, On A Summer Night

My Favorite Restaurant, On A Summer Night
My Favorite Restaurant, On A Summer Night

I do have a favorite restaurant, but it’s not just because of the food, but because when we go there it feels more like a day away … a vacation day or a vacation night.

If we meet on a Friday after work, we try to get there at around 6 pm. All I have to do is text everyone and say:

Let’s meet tonight at our favorite place…bring a cooler and towels.

Everyone knows and we meet.

We set our sheets, blankets, and chairs down…the kids are untethered yet with a few watchful eyes, they start to have fun without a moment to waste …swimming, splashing, skipping rocks, playing in the sand and the playground.

We (the adults) sit on our chairs and catch-up, enjoying the long summer days… keeping an eye on the spectacular sunset, off in the distance.

Yes this my favorite restaurant… at my town beach; at dusk we gather our belongings, the kids, and head up to the restaurant…

This beach has a very nice Italian restaurant (the food is delicious and  perfect for a date night), it has outdoor and indoor seating. What they also have is a concession stand that serves pizza, drinks (soda, beer, and water, I think wine too) ice-cream and Italian Ices.

There are two kinds of outdoor seating; tables with tablecloths and tables without the tablecloths, one is for the restaurant the other, for the pizzeria/concession stand.

We get a table without a tablecloth, order a couple of pizza pies (which are tasty), a couple of salads and enjoy whatever drinks we have in our coolers.

It is so relaxing…

It truly is one my favorite things to do!

I can’t wait for those nights again this summer.

Mangia, Mangia…No Talk!

  • I am beyond jealous. I think I am supposed to be living near the ocean. Why, oh why, did we ever choose indiana as our final destination? 🙂

  • Psst! It's actually The Long Island Sound – calm, no waves sometimes buggy (a little bug spray it's all good) still it's my own little gem… when we go I'll text you too it'll be a blast! I know how you like to take trips with your kids…just a mere 12 hour ride without traffic! LOL!!!

Love to hear from you; leave me a comment
