Christmas is less than a week away!

I am almost done shopping, really one or two more gifts.  However, I still have to get my cards out, and Ssh, it’s a secret, but I still have to send out these special letters to certain little people in my family!  There’s wrapping to be done, and I have to figure out what we are all wearing on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day!
Oh Boy, perhaps I should panic…..Nah instead I’m listening to
Ms. Joni Mitchell; and crocheting stocking stuffers …

Christmas will be here and me panicking is not the answer, I know this will be my house on Christmas morning!

Then I will prepare Christmas Dinner and my home will look like this:

On the menu will be a Fresh Ham

Not sure, what the sides will be …I need to see what the market has that looks good!
I might add a pasta dish too…not sure yet, thinking about it.
I made this ham a couple of years ago it was roasted on a low temperature 300 or 325 degrees; 15-20 minutes per pound. I seasoned the ham with salt & pepper, inserted garlic cloves everywhere, and placed it on top of a bed of mirepoix!
Actual Recipe and pictures will follow!

It’s coming on Christmas
They’re cutting down trees
They’re putting up reindeer
And singing songs of joy and peace
Oh I wish I had a river I could skate away on
River

Folks, let’s not panic it will get done, always will!

Mangia, Mangia…No Talk!

  • Christmas Eve is my favorite Nick and I gear for the fish spectacular….my don't count how many fish dishes we make, not sure why …I should ask my mom…We celebrate Christmas at my sisters house we also celebrate her daughters birthday too…yes 18 years ago they were born on Christmas Eve after 11PM no one ate fish that night until after they were born…LOL!
I will be posting more crazy off beat songs ….check out yesterday's! Glad Tidings form NY – Marisa

  • OMG, The River! I should totally have put that on my list! I knew this would happen. It leaves me feeling so melancholy – sad Christmas song. Anyway, your table and ham look great! I'll be cooking the Feast of the Seven Fishes on the eve! Mangia!

  • Marisa, I cooked a fresh ham a few years ago and remember how delicious it was. I'd forgotten all about that. I think I've solved one of my menu questions for the family coming in. And maybe there would be enough leftovers for sandwiches and there would be the bone for pinto beans! I haven't even made out my grocery list yet. Help, need more days before Christmas Eve!

  • It was so yummy I want to do it again! And yes sandwiches sound good . I'm thinking of making some kind of apple compote with it , yams, Brussels sprouts…mom will bring the artichokes … so much to do I will start looking like the rabbit from Alice in Wonderland with a stop watch in hand soon!

    XOXO
