Frozen Margarita Jello Shots and Tomato & Avocado Salad!
Did everyone have a wonderful 4th of July… I did; we were at my sister Silvana’s home. It was a gorgeous day; everyone swimming, cooling off, as always there was an abundance of food and laughter!

How does she do it? It’s magic! She said that the high sugar content drink is on the bottom, and the second layer needs to be poured over a lot of ice.

I did mention a couple of posts ago that bringing dessert to my sister’s house is a fierce competition. So one year prior to the fourth of July as I was sipping a Margarita at a restaurant, while dining with friends, that is when I became inspired to make Margarita Jello Shots – at that time I knew I was going to make Jello shots, I just did not know what flavor!
I found the recipe on line and up until I finished making them we were calling them the Margarita Jello Shot Recipe; Nick & I made so many; little 2 oz plastic containers were stacked in aluminum baking trays, we asked ourselves can all these fit in the fridge, um no! So it hit us to stick them in our freezer, voila Frozen Margarita Jello Shots! We’ve been doing these since 2008 and they are good!

Margarita Jello Shots
6 ounces of Lime Jello (large box)
16 ounces Water (boiling)
6 ounces of Tequila
2 ounces of Triple Sec
1 ounce of Lime Juice
1 ounce of Water (cold)
Mix the jello mix with the boiling water until the powder is fully dissolved. Add the rest of the water and alcohol. We pour about 1 ounce of mixture in 2 ounce plastic containers and cover them with lids; you can purchase the containers and lids at any party store. Makes about 40 shots. Please be advised these are not for children; the alcohol is optional and drink responsibly!
Tomato and Avocado Salad is my favorite, and always requested What is not to like; avocado, tomatoes, seasoning and a squeeze of lime!

So glad you had a good family 4th. I'm sure the food and drinks were all delicious. And I'm so glad your beautiful fur baby was in the photo too. I'm trying to remember his name…is it Mickey? No, that doesn't sound right. Forgive me, forgot the name but not the cuteness.
LOL Dewena; that little guy is the cutest; not because he is mine but he truly makes me laugh; he has away about him that looks like he is charge and is supervising everyone…he looks stern mostly then there are days he is smiling…he so Kool that he rarely barks! We named him Teddy Bear Einstein – he answers to Teddy, Tenderness, and Teddy Bear Einstein! Thanks for visiting!
